Can I wear it outside deep winter?

It is wool, so it earns its keep from October onwards. In milder weather it works on its own; when it turns properly cold, layer underneath and let the sleeves do their thing.

Is the sash removable?

Yes. Tied, you get a defined waist. Off, you get something softer that you can sit through a long dinner in. Both are correct.

Dressy or casual?
